Reporting to:  Imaging Operations Supervisor.  DEPT:  Imaging area.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

To learn and operate all Litho equipment with in G.I Solutions.

To learn and operate inline finishing equipment within G.I Solutions.

To work within a team to move forward existing projects and future investments in Litho/inline finishing.

MAIN DUTIES & TARGETS

  • Meet monthly targets, probations and reviews with supervisors.
  • Subject to above completing apprenticeship by September 2019.
  • To continuously monitor and maintain print/fold quality to customer required specifications.
  • Responsible for operating the equipment assigned to you to achieve all set targets / KPI’s.
  • Responsible for reporting and logging of all information as requested throughout the running of a job.
  • Once trained responsible for ensuring all OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) recommended preventative maintenance tasks are carried out adequately for the continuation of the business.
  • Responsible for ensuring the recommended levels of preventative maintenance are performed adequately and on time.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all quality standards, agreed by the company across all functions or agreed on an individual contract basis are maintained or superseded.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all specified procedures are implemented.
  • Responsible for communication of all issues affecting the above to the Imaging Operations Supervisor.
  • Ensure that you follow SSOW’s for all equipment (H&S).
  • Ensure all waste is segregated for correct disposal (Environmental & Security).
  • Ensure all correct security badges are being worn and challenge anyone not wearing one (Security).

In addition to the above, we may require you to carry out any other duties within your reasonable competence. This also includes all shift patterns and a level of overtime required to get the results required.

Working Conditions

You will be working with fast moving equipment, with a reasonably high noise factor and as such, adequate ear protection is supplied and must be worn.  Also adequate protective footwear is provided and must be worn.

  • Reduce make ready times/downtime/waste.
  • Produce high quality Direct mail print to the agreed times set.
  • To achieve a consistent high level of print quality throughout the production run.

  • To work a flexible shift pattern and be available to cover printers holidays, sickness and any other absences that may occur.
  • To control Manufacturing performance and hit set targets.
  • To work within a team on shifts to produce high quality Direct mail.
  • Control the house keeping and maintenance on press/shift.
  • Achieve all quality standards to ISO accreditations standards.
  • Ensure that all crew members follow SSOW’s for all equipment. (H&S).
  • Ensure all waste is segregated for correct disposal (Environmental & Security).
  • Ensure all correct security badges are being worn and challenge anyone not wearing one. (Security).

In addition to the above, we may require you to carry out any other duties within your reasonable competence. This will include holiday cover and flexible working hours.

  • Be able to use an auto print register system.

  • Had No 1 experience.
  • Excellent verbal & written skills.
  • People management skills.
  • Previous experience of inline finishing equipment.
  • Worked on a Zirkon web press.
  • Knowledge of uv/aqueous coating.
