What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for the quality management of a business. It is in relation to the organisation and maintenance of a quality management system to ensure continual improvements are made and the customer’s requirements are always met. The standard required for the qualification is maintained by on-site assessment, carried out by an UKAS registered external third party.

Why did we adopt this standard?

Every client expects a high standard of quality whether it be in service or product, by adopting ISO9001 GI can be certain to always perform and pass this on to our clients.

What does it mean to you?
Clients can be assured that from quotation through to production there are quality checks every step of the way to ensure their expectations are met. This minimises the risk of mistakes and helps GI Solutions to continually improve the quality of service we provide.

Key Points

Process Automation
Data transfer is through a secure FTP site. Where practicable, the transfer and validation process is automated.

Production reporting
Where practicable, production reporting and control of change management is automated and allows a quick and straight-forward view of current progress and management of issues and updates.

File Based Integrity
For mail pack integrity, a 2d barcode closed loop production system is in operation. The 2d barcode is added when printing and read back into the system to validate that the personalised piece is received, enclosed correctly and then read through the envelope window to confirm it has been produced and released to mail. Reprints are managed automatically through this system, ensuring 100% every time.

Quality Targets
All non conformances are recorded in the Management Information System for both internal and external in relation to products or services provided.
All client complaints are published at senior management meetings and to all our employees through our company newsletter.
The business improvement department has a target of year on year reduction of client complaints with the overall target of reaching zero client complaints.
